MiniMed 722 Insulin Pump Remote Control

I am wondering if there is someone out here who would like to sell a remote for a minimed 722 insulin pump?? My daughter is 13 years old and would like to wear her pump in a discreet area while she is at school. She would like to be able to access her bolus without having to figit under her clothes. I did see them on the MiniMed website but we simply cant afford that remote. Hopefully there is someone here with a kind heart and shallow pockets that might give us a fabulous deal on that remote.  I have already contacted the MiniMed Rep, as well as, the distributor, they have both said that the remote control is an extra cost.  Thank you in advance for your responses.

Anyone out there looking for the new 522 at an affordable price? I have one new 512 paradigm and one new 522 paradigm both selling around the $1000.00 range.

Charmaine,

I hope you're still on these boards.  I found a pump remote on eBay for only $45.  Here's the link: <a href=http://cgi.ebay.com/MINIMED-MMT-500-REMOTE-FOR-INSULIN-PUMP-GREAT-DEAL_W0QQitemZ250076306208QQihZ015QQcategoryZ11780QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem> Pump</a>
If that doesn't work, the item # is 250076306208.
I hope this helps!

Charmaine,

I looked it up and the remote is the same for the 508 and paradigm series.  It sells for $150 at the minimed store and I can sell it to you for $75, brand new and unused.  We can't give out personal contact info here, but post a message if you're interested and we'll figure something out, maybe using the JDRF boards?

I'm another volunteer here ...

Because no one is allowed to post personally identifying information on this forum, I recommend that you seek out the help from our sister initiative Online Diabetes Support Team (ODST) -- also sponsored by JDRF.  You'll find links to them on the main JDRF website www.jdrf.org

Working with the volunteers there, you may be connected with folks who either are knowledgeable about programs to help underwrite the costs, or perhaps folks who have an extra or an unwanted remote.  Some of the same folks volunteer here, so I know it's a great group of very effective folks.

Our forum is intended for general sharing where information can be broadly used. ODST is a much more 1:1 type of interaction that starts over a secure website and can grow, depending on the interests/needs of the folks asking for help & information.

Good luck to you & your daughter.
