Pancreatic Cancer?

My wife has been diagnosed with errosive esphagitis 1 1/2 yrs ago.
She was told she has a large build up of stomach acid with caused the
esphagitis. Other symptoms she has been experiencing till today is
painfull night leg cramps when sleeping, lower back pain, abdominal
tenderness and pain, bloating (gas), diarrhea, a few gray-clay colored
stools, confusion, a recurring flakey sore on her upper buttocks, consti-
pation, fatigue and a feeling of tightness in the chest.

Several weeks ago she had a CAT scan done on her abdomen, which found a
possible tumor on the pancreas head. In turn was a MRI of the abdomen,
which found a possible calcification on the pancreas head. It measures
1 cm x 9 mm.

My question is... What is the prognosis for a calcification that size
on the pancreas head? And will she need surgery? And are these symptoms
consistant with panreatic cancer and/or calcification?

I already the prognosis for pancreatic cancer!

This forum is populated by volunteers and by other people with Type 1 diabetes. We are not experts on other medical issues. You need to see your doctor and ask him these questions. What I do know is that multiple problems can result from uncontrolled blood sugars. Your husband needs to learn about how to correct his insulin doses and Insulin:Carb ratios so that his diabetes is controlled.

Dear Edclectic,
We are volunteers and not medical professionals; we know a lot about Juvenile Diabetes, however.

Given my background, I can't offer any prognosis nor any diagnoses on your dear wife's condition.  I did a GOOGLE search, however, and found that MedHelp has a Gastroenterology/Liver disease forum that may be useful for you.

I recommend, however, that you check in with your wife's doctor and if you're not getting complete enough information, do ask for a second opinion or a referral to a specialist.  I wish you both well.
