I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM I HAVE HAD TYPE I DIABETES FOR 36 YEARS. SOMETIMES I FEEL SYMPTOMS AT 70 AND THEN SOME TIMES IT IS IN THE 50'S AND I FEEL NOTHING. I HAVE HAD IT DROP AS LOW AS 27 BEFORE I HAVE FELT ANYTHING. I'VE BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH HYPOGLYCEMIC UNAWARENESS(WHICH HAPPENS TO A LOT OF DIABETICS WHO HAVE HAD THIS DISEASE FOR A VERY LONG TIME).
I HAVE TALKED TO MY DOCTOR ABOUT THIS BUT CAN'T SEEM TO FIND ANY ANSWERS. I 'VE BEEN SEARCHING FOR ANSWERES TO THIS FOR YEARS.
I HOPE YOUR SISTER IS WELL. JUST MAKE SURE SHE ALWAYS HAS SOME GLUCOSE TABS WITH HER AT ALL TIMES.
I KNOW IT IS VERY FUSTRATING, BUT IT IS JUST SOMETHING WE HAVE TO LIVE WITH.
i am not a physican, but the mom of a type one diabetic. every one and every low is differnt. i would suggest that you ask you sisiter if you can go to her next dr visit with her and have her docotor or educator help you find ways to deal with the lows, and what to look for.
i know that with my daughter some times she is ok at 70 other times she is not , it is never the same twice.
