life expectancy in kidney disease stage 3
My 63 year old husband has stage 3 kidney disease. He has been Type 1 diabetic since the age of 18 months. If he keeps his blood pressure, glucose levels and diet under control, what is a reasonable life expectancy for him?  He is under the care of an endocrinologist and nephrologist, and has been most of his life.  Thanks.

Wow!  I am very impressed that he has been able to control diabetis for this many years.  Good job!  Is the kidney disease a result of diabetis or are there 2 different disease processes taking place?
