2HR OGTT

Hi
Had to do a OGTT for work here are my results ,

Fasting 5.4
1Hr       5.3
2Hr       5.5

I would have thought blood would rise higher than the fasting leveling then drop but I seem to do the opposite , Iam happy with the result just seem strange .

Hi thanks for the reply , I don't have a endocrinologist so I guess start with a doctor .
I have seen other OGTT dont on TV and there is a rise of blood sugar after the dose then you want to see how quickly it drops back to normal , just wonder why mine didn't fit that profile .

Thanks
David

Hi there!

The values are within the normal limits. Normally a rise before a fall is expected with the readings, though the blood sugar levels can be altered due to stress/ anxiety, severe hypoglycemia, medications etc. I would suggest discussing the test results in detail with your treating endocrinologist.
Hope this is helpful.

Take care!
