If I ate two cups of rice and 2 slices of bread my blood sugar would probably be in the 400s! So you now have an opportunity to learn to slowly cut those carbs before it is absolutely necessary!
zoelula Thank you for your response . I am going to make this lifestyle as a habbit as you said. again today i went to hospital , I took readings exactly after 55 minutes i ate my lunch which contains a cup of buttermilk , 2cups of rice, 2 big wheat breads ,and some vegatable curry. results 7.7 mmol (138 mg ). thank you
It is impossible to say if you will progress to diabetes or not and how long it will take if you do; there are just too many variables. But the bottom line is the more lifestyle changes you make, the longer you will keep your blood sugar lower: healthy weight, lower carb intake and regular exercise. Even if you have a good A1C it's not a good idea to think you are " cured" and revert to bad habits. The best idea is just to make the lifestyle changes a habit in your life.
Thank you ! I have diabetes family history . My father was diagnosed with diabetes when he was 47 years old and his father(my grandpa)was diagnosed when he was 57 or around 60 something.
Now I am 29 years old .I understood that I have pre diabetes . I felt happy when I read about pre diabetes , that it can be reversible and I can become normal again. after managed to reduce my weight 8 kg with diet and exercise , am well within ideal range for my height now. My question is if i have family history of diabetes , does it mean that it is not in my hands to prevent developing diabetes ?. should it go this way ? . how many years more i can be normal with this test results. Thank you
Diabetes only causes frequent urination if the numbers are quite high. It might have another cause; I would check with your doctor.
thanks zoelula ! I have this problem .. I have to use urinals very often during the day time. but I never wake up at night times in the middile of sleep. Is this problem due to pre diabeties condition ?
Congratulations on taking things in hand and losing the weight! It sounds like that has lowered your blood sugar back into normal range. Your A1C you had done before puts you in the pre-diabetic range which begins at 5.7. However, it sounds like you have lowered your blood sugar with your weight loss and it would probably be better now. You are doing well and I would continue keeping your weight in the normal range and you might want to lower your carb intake a bit. Two sandwiches are a lot of carbs and orange juice is very carb intensive. You have a tendency towards diabetes and everything you can do to keep it from progressing is good. Keep up the good work!
i for got to write that I have a problem - I have to pee after eating -
