Blood sugar level question

Ok, I have been tested this year and I keep up with my blood sugar daily because my mom is diabetic. My levels always been pretty normal. If I haven't eaten all day I can feel it but my blood sugar is only down to around 80-85. On normal circumstances my blood sugar is around 95-105. After I eat, it can get up to 115-120. However, yesterday I was hot (due to it being like 105 degrees here) so I ate not just one but 2 snowcones. When I got home I decided to check my blood sugar and it was 165. I checked about 2 hours later and it was down to 110. Like I said, I got tested in 2005 and then again in February of this year and everything was normal.

Is this normal?

I had the fasting blood test in February. I might go get an A1C and try that out.

I normally don't eat a lot of sweets. I am not much of a sugar fan.

In general, no, non-diabetics usually don't go over 120 no matter what they eat. However, that is a lot of sugar, and you did return to normal by two hours later. I would keep an eye on it. You say you got tested in February. What test does your doctor use? If it is a random blood sugar it is virtually useless. Fasting blood sugar is better but still wouldn't catch it if you were spiking after food. The best is to get an A1C which is an average of 3 months worth of blood sugars. You can also get these at a pharmacy and do them at home.
