It depends on how much of it you drink in one day.  Not only bad for diabetics for everyone.

You can have some beer, but keep to the alcohol limit.  Don't drink more than 2 alcoholic drinks in a day.
One  alcoholic drink is equivalent to a 12 ounce beer.

Drink slowly and only drink when eating food.

So with reference to paragraph number 1 in the previous post that "alcohol makes you do stupid things like taking too much of your medicine (or too little)", as beer is an alcoholic drink then it would be classed as "bad".

The best thing to do is to have anything you fancy in moderation.  Don't deny yourself your favourite drink or food.  Have a small portion or as a treat and not every day.  Follow the advice of the Diabetic Association and Government guidelines on alcohol consumption.  You can find advice on alcohol consumption on the Diabetic website confirms what I wrote in my post.

Having a beer would be better than having a liqueur or sweet wine.

NO beer is not bad

1 when your liver is bussy detoxing alcohol from your blood it cant do a glucagon dump to raise BG if you go low.  It cant filter out other drugs so some of them can build up in your blood.  AND alcohol makes you do stupid things like taking too much of your medicine (or too little)

2  beer has carbs

so how it afects you depends on how much you dringking , what drugs your on
