DO I HAVE DIABETES?

I've drank way too much soda during my life and rarely exercised and when I go up to 8 hours or so without soda I start shaking and my entire body feels horrible like all my organs aren't working right and my legs feel like spaghetti to the point where I can barely walk in a straight line [I don't drink alcohol or do drugs] and I become so weak that it sometimes takes me 2-3 attempts to open the refridgerator door and once I chug down 1-2 cans of soda/sprite it all goes away but drinking fruit juice doesn't help much because it doesn't have high fructose corn syrup. Some time ago out of nowhere I got this pain in my right ankle area that felt like I was being stabbed there and I had to lay in my bed swinging my right food back and forth for half an hour before it went away and I got this pain but nowhere near as bad sometimes before and after this.

I've gotten those shakes too but mine happen after I drink too much water.  It's almost like I'm flushing all the sugar out of my body and others have sometimes identified it as low blood sugar syptoms.  After I drink a can of soda I'm fine; or a piece of candy.  It's wierd and an aweful feeling.  You see my drink of choice is cool aid and it's got a lot of sugar in it.  I also put a lot of sugar in my coffee in the morning.  You need to have your blood sugar checked.  Everytime I have mine checked it's been fine.  Wierd I know.  Goodluck!

First, there are no doctors on this forum even though one may respond from time to time. When was your last checkup? If its been over a yer you're way past due. Include in you blood draw a lab for HGB A1c which will help the doctor determine if you're diabetic.

If so and I do go to the hospital what can I expect as far as tests or something to help me?
