oops, I thought you were the 23 year old... sorry.
Has the neuropathy been confirmed with an EMG/Nerve conduction test? Many things can cause neuropathy... but, are generally divided into injury/pinched nerves and everything else. At your age, I'd be surprised if it was type 2 diabetes.
You could also ask for the HA1c test, which is a test that tells you what your average blood glucose has been over the past few months.
A result of about 4.8 is ideal in healthy people. Anything above about 6 is considered diabetic.
Hope this helps.
"i had a blood sugar test (the finger ***** one) and my level was "perfect"."
If you had soap or alcohol residue on your finger the test results would be imperfect. If the meter was old and mishandled, uncalibrated, test strips expired the test would results would be imperfect.
The OGTT is one way to help determine blood glucose levels. Be sure to fast 8-10 hours prior. No food or colored liquids during this period. Don't cheat. Just a little bit skewers the results.
Good luck.
You don't really say when your finger stick test was done...fasting, before, after meal or what the number was. But if you are experiencing symptoms such as neuropathy it sure can't hurt to do further testing such as the glucose tolerance test.
