You really need to find a diabetic nurse-practicioner or R.N. specializing in diabetes. These people are really great at what they do and always helpful. The M.D.'s simply don't have the time or interest to do the job.
It is impossible to instruct you in the proper insulin protocol on an internet answer forum. You need an in-person interface.
I want you to make a priority of locating such a clinic within the next thirty days.
Best wishes.
A typical way to increase insulin is to add 1 - 2 units every 3 days until blood sugar is at target.
However, you really should be adjusting insulin under supervision of your doctor or diabetes educator.
Some books that can be usefull are:-
Using Insulin by John Walsh
and
Think Like a Pancreas
and
Diabetes Solutions by Dr. Richard Bernstein (this also recommends low carb).
