@ diabetes86 - That is very interesting. Thanks so much for the reply. Lily
The wold uses one scale and the US uses a different scale
11 in the world is 180 in US readings (actually it should be 198)
take the World reading and multiply by 18 to get US reading
to convert US to world divide the US reading by 18
I'm confused. MBredin said "11.0" as his blood glucose reading. Then SuperSally replied 11 (180). Which was it? A 180 reading for me is VERY HIGH and of course 11 is almost a coma reading. Can someone tell me if you are talking about a regular reading from a glucometer. I was hospitalized earlier this year when my reading in the ER was 14. They were amazed I was even conscious. I had been passing out at home.
To me, you are having symptoms of a full blown Diabetes patient, I would buy a self-test kit called A1C Now, made by Bayer and it is very reliable, at Walmart for $29.99 or at Walsgreen for $39.99 . Follow instructions, then voila within 5 or 7 minutes, the result is there in front of you. Good luck
Hello,
A blood glucose reading of 11 (180) is definitely not normal. Was this a fasting reading or a post eating reading. If it is fasting, it is alarming, as your post eating levels will be much higher. Even if it is post eating, it is still too high.
It is diabetic level. Also your symptoms would indicate diabetes.
You said you've been having a lot of lows lately. What do you mean by lows? based on blood sugar readings? or by how you're feeling?
Are you diagnsoed with diabetes? What meds are you taking?
You need to see a Dr. and get treated. Please see a Dr. as soon as possible.
Please let us know how you go. Untreated or inadequately treated diabetes can have very serious health consequences.
