Hello,
231 is very high. I imagine it goes much higher after meals.
You may need to be on insulin to control your sugars. Ask your Dr. to test for type 1 (or adult onset type 1 / LADA).
Also ask your dr to test your thyroid. Thyroid disorders are also very common in people with diabetes.
What to do naturally:-
1. Lose weight. Yes. Very hard. But it will help.
2. Exercise. Try to do some sort of moderate intensity exercise for at least 30 minutes every day. Ideally do the exercise after eating, to help your body absorb sugar.
3. Very low carb (no sugars/ sweetened foods, bread, pasta, potato, rice, corn etc), moderate protein, and enough healthy unprocessed fats to keep you satisfied. Your carbs should be mainly coming from non-starchy vegetables. No fruits.
4. Drink plenty of water.
Please come back and let us know how you go and what is happening with your appointment.
That is high Im glad your seeing the MD.
We do know that carbohydrates raise BG (blood sugar) ALL carbs raise BG
AND most people are most carb sensitive in the morning so... I eat eggs and bacon, NO juice NO oatmeal, NO toast
