Skin Painful to Touch

My skin on my abdomen and back is painful to touch. There is no bruising or injury, but it is very painful. What could be causing this?

Thanks for updating us, Jimius. Sorry to hear that it's shingles, good to hear that you have started treatment. Good luck

Went to the VA urgent care yesterday. The pain was just too much . It is in fact shingles. It is really painful, but i guess that's life. At least I know now, they gave me meds for viral suppression and pain. Hopefully it will fade soon.

Or it could be something like shingles! Particularly if the pain is just on one side.

If it is shingles the rash will come out in a few days... the pain can take quite some while to subside.

You're welcome. One thing to note; if your glucose levels are well controlled and managed the possibility of diabetes caused peripheral neuropathy disorder would be marginal. If the pins and needles pain sensation is accompanied by numbness or an headache they could be signs of a stroke. Good luck

The joke is not too bad! Thanks for your input. I made a Dr appt for next Monday. I have no idea if this kind of thing is DMII related or something else.

There's a myriad of reasons for tender and painful skin conditions. Go see a doctor for a complete health examination, something we cannot do over the inet.

Apologize for busting your thread but your post reminded me of a blond joke; a blond goes to the doctor and says "Where ever I touch myself it hurts". The doctor touches her in various spots and each time asks if it hurts. Each time she responds with a No. Doctor says, "Your finger is broken".
