What is wrong?

I am 50 years old and wondering if I may have some kind of blood sugar issue.  If I eat sweets before bed (I am not talking about ALOT of sweets, maybe a couple of cookies or a piece of pie with dinner), I wake up the next morning extremely dizzy and barely able to walk straight.  The last time this happened, I got up in the night to go to the bathroom, and I nearly fell forward.  I kept nearly falling and running into the walls and furniture, because I was too dizzy to stand.  I could not get out of bed the next morning until the dizziness had subsided somewhat.  Usually, it goes away after my coffee and protein bar at breakfast.  The last time, it lasted longer.  It got better after eating some peanut butter and cheese.  I do not fit the profile of adult diabetes.  I am caucasian, weigh 105 pounds, and diabetes does not run in my family.  I have a pretty healthy diet (I have been a vegetarian for 20 years), and am otherwise in excellent health.  My blood pressure is 90/70.  This dizziness concerns me.  What the heck is going on?

"I wake up the next morning extremely dizzy and barely able to walk straight. " These are health and life issues you're ignoring. Tomorrow you may not wake up. Go see a doctor NOW and get tested it may save your life - CBC, diabetes, etc.

Strawberri is correct it could be either but I susspect that it is the BP and not sugars dropping low.  The reason I say that is coffe and a protien bar would not help low sugars and and neither would peanut butter and cheese.  Also if it were blood sugars going low in the middle of the night you would probably be waking up in a cold sweat and feel too dizzy to stand not getting up and then feeling dizzy and falling.  I suspect the getting up is effecting your BP. But Strawberri is also right - get it checked by the Dr.

it could be two things your BP is going very, very low, or your BS are dropping to low, u say after eating it gets better. So u should go to your Dr. and have them do some Blood work. Two other things, a glucose meter can ansewer if its your BS and a blood pressure machine can tell if your BP is to low. Never think never, I was 98 and lbs and diagnosed with type 2. And I am as white as you. But go get it checked, either way u need to know..
