Exercise 3 x a week in winter,2 hours a day, ride bicycle 100 miles a week in summer, am overweight but slowly losing. Pre diabetic and High Blood Pressure. (hospitalized 5 years ago for HBP) how should I handle carbohydrates on work-out days and how much is proper hydration?
During the summer I too ride. I have found "FOR ME" that BG under 120 while riding I have little umph I use cake decorating frosting (in tubes) to juice up my BG (I test regularly while riding). If I am riding in hills I eat more than than on the flats.
