diabetes + feeling blue in morning time

I have just recently been diagnosed with diabetes - I am not on meds yet, have tried exercise and diet, lost weight, no sugar, etc.. but my blood sugar is just going up. I have an appt this week with my doc. I have noticed that once in awhile I am very sad in the mornings.  Like I am missing someone is the only way I can describe it.  The only thing I can think of is the few times this has happened I have had two or three beers the night before.  Does this make sense and is this something that has to do with the diabetes?  I am also on effexor for anxiety. Oh, and, I have HOT and SWEATY alot.  thanks!

Must agree with WaveRider - have been on Effexor for a while now and Alcohol defintely does not mix, no matter how little.

Your problem isn't diabetes its alcohol. According to the manufacturer or Effexor® (venlafaxine hydrochloride), drinking alcohol while using Effexor is not recommended since they both work on the same part of the brain. Alcohol negates Effexor.
