do I need medication?

Hello,

Indian Male of 34 years old.
I checked my blood sugar and cholesterol 1.5 months back and the results were like this.

Blood Sugar
---------
Fasting - 139
After breakfast (PP) - 213

Total Cholesterol -220.

After that I started 30 mins excercise and controlled my diet. Now the results shows like this.

Blood sugar
----------------

Fasting - 125
After breakfast (PP) - 160

Total cholesterol - 187

Please tell me do I need medication or continueing the current excercise and diet control is good enough?

Thank you for the response. I am not going to quit excercise or diet control. My worry was, whether i need to take medicine at this stage, considering my age? I am hesistant to take medicine as I heard that, once you start taking medicine, then apparently you have to take it life long.

Your doctor may or may not put you on blood sugar meds, it depends on the doctor. Your cholesterol is very close to normal, most doctors probably wouldn't, but again, it depends on the MD.

when your BG is over 140  your body is being damaged by high BG.
with better diet control and exercising more often you may be able to get your BG down lower.  you have a good start, now is not the time to quit.
