This can be caused by hihg blood sugars and is reversible if you get your blood sugars down to truely normal range.

The Dr. bernstein book explains it very well.

Don't ignore this.

Please also see and work with your doctor on this.

Hi there,
I'd like to add..
Your symptoms matching with on set Diabetic 2 patients.
Are you diagosed as one yet?
If not, I suggest that you buy a self-test kit for diabertic 2 called A1C Now
at Walmart or Walsgreen, or see an endo also known as Diabetes specialist.
I am a long time diabetic 2, 15 months ago I had the same symstoms like yours, then I studied it by searching the web, libraries,...I found out that to lower my A1C to 6% or less in 3 or 4 weeks and try not to have high above 165mm then the pain goes away. You should read the book entitled Diabetes Solution by DR. Beinrstein or at least  log onto Amazon.com to read the reviews of the readers of this book before you decide to buy it.
Good luck.

Have you tried compression garments? Diabetic socks? I use both and they help with the pain...I think the best are the socks though. The stockings or regular compression socks might be too tight. I use the Jobst sensifoot diabetic socks....I used to buy them from the medical supply store but they were expensive. I then switched to the walmart brand...they are ok if you are on a budget but found the best quality to be Jobst brand...I found a place online that sell them at the best price. www.thecompressionshop.com

Your symptoms mimic Peripheral Neuropathy as a result of letting your diabetes go uncontrolled. PN is damage to your nervous system resulting in loss of muscle use, loss of reflexes, poor coordination, and could spread to bone as an infection. If you ignore medical treatment it may result in amputation and a wheelchair. Please see your doctor, like yesterday. Good luck
