Obviously you are already diagnosed. Metformin is the best medications for freshly diagnosed diabetics and it will help you to conrol your blood sugar- side effect is loss of weight - you should start taking it -you will be surprised at the good results.

I'm not quite sure what your post is even about, but as 'often' replied, if you were given (I am *assuming* that means *prescribed* by a medical professional) metformin, then, yes, you should be taking it.... unless you are regularly testing your own blood glucose several times a day and they are normal *and* you have confirmed that with a doc and an A1C test.
Let us know your situation and how you were "given" Metformin and someone here might be able to offer more specific feedback.
