Can Diabetes Go away?

My BG was (11) and for some reason it has always been high but I should had been on Insulins. It took them to find out that I neded to be on Insulins when I found out I was 7wk. I'm going on 11wk :-) I seen a big improvement going from 500&above to less than 120 most of the time. My castings be low always about 50 but less than 95. So I'm curious when I go to get another test will my numbers go down and is is possible for this diabetes to go away.?

During the 1st trimester, BG level will go lower than your normal level.  This is the critical period for baby's development of healthy heart.  Any abnormal BG levels would increase risk of heart defect or even miscarriage/stillbirth.  After about 27 weeks, the hormone chance will make insulin resistance much worse.  And if not well controlled, the baby will grow too big, which increases the risks for delivery complications.  If baby is measuring too big and have to come out early, the baby will need NICU stay due to immature lungs.

Get your diabetes under control for the sake of your baby please.  No, diabetes does not go away.  What you see is the normal course of pregnancy.  The fact that it fluctuate so much in your body than other pregnant women says something about your body's ability to control a steady healthy sugar level.

Is it safe to assume that you're pregnant, 11 weeks?  Have you been diagnosed with gestational diabetes?  If the answer to both of these questions is yes, your diabetes may resolve after the pregnancy.
