Different insulins
Will taking two insulin made by different manufacturers do something? I would be taking Humalog and Novolin NPH. I take the Humalog before meals and the NPH before bed.

Excellent question.

There is no known problem with taking two types of insulin made by different manufacturers.  In fact, NPH may be mixed in the same syringe with any type of rapid-acting insulin, even if the two are made by different manufacturers.  It is also permissible to take a long-acting insulins (glargine, detemir) and a rapid-acting insulin made by a different manufacturer, but they should not be mixed together in the same syringe.
