Hi,
"Energy" can be obtained form a number of food sources, some of which will raise the glucose higher. Carbohydrates are a ready source to be turned into energy but they do raise blood sugars. Fats are also good sources, but they should be taken in limited amounts as they raise cholesterol levels. Proteins can also be used as energy sources.
In general, aim for a balanced diet with complex carbohydrates in moderate amounts,  alot of protein, limited fats, and many vegetables. Hope this answers your question.Take care.
