gangrene

What is the best way to treat dry gangrene. It is on my right big toe.  Is black and very hard.  Has been about 5 months.  I'm getting angioplasty on that leg next week.  What is next step after blood flow is restored?

Hello,
I am afraid your question is best directed to the podiatrists or the vascular surgeons, who regularly treat this condition.  They will offer some suggestions during and after your angioplasty next week, but in general the follow-up recommendations after surgery include keeping the area clean and dry, avoiding any trauma to the feet, stopping smoking, and keeping blood sugars under control.
Take care
