hand pain

Dear Doc,

I am a 58yrs Female from India with diebetic since 8yrs. Last june i had been admitted in the hospital with sugar shooted upto 540 due to urinal infection. Now i am ok with the sugar levelled to 150-160.But now i face a different problem of pain on the finger in my left handHand, i am unable to bend my fingers, it is paining a lot. I am taking 12 units of insulin with the tablets gmer2 twice daily,gabantin100,tozloc20,tenolol25,meconerve all 1 each daily.

Kindly suggest me.

Hi,
I think you may be having either some nerve or muscle problems related to your diabetes. Given that you have had it for a long time, the risk is higher in your case than someone who has had it only a few years. Your sugar levels are not too bad right now. Please have your doctor examine your hands/fingers soon to determine if there is any infection firstly, and then for nerve or muscle problems that can give you this type of pain. I am sorry I could not offer more specific advice but I am quite limited by not being able to examie you.
