insulin

I have been taking Novalog for a month now and will be unable to get more for a short time.  Can I substitute my Humulin R for it for 2 days until I get the novolog again?

Hi,
I am assuming that your Novolog is Aspart?
If you want to take your Humulin R)(regular insulin) you will need to take it 15-30 minutes before you eat, instead of less than 15 minutes as you would the Aspart. Also remember that Regular insulin lasts longer, so do not give yourself correction doses  soon after you eat by using the regular insulin--you could cause some significant hypoglycemia that way
Take care.
