I'm a 30 yr old male  240 pounds,   I've been having the feeling of a heavy chest from the upper middle sternum even when it's worse down into the inner lower ribs... It seems like pressure builds up down in my lower chest,  and I have specific palpitations which originate from maybe just below the actual heart  up to the heart,   moving around, or sudden movements  cause this,   my chest often feels like it  burns or gets cold and hollow,   I get squeezing pain in the upper center or  my whole chest wall just feels heavy,    I also frequent feel like my whole guts are "sore" when I take a deep breath,   and I get extremely lightheaded and just plain "sick" and nauseated.   I've had a normal Holter monitor, lab tests, echo, stress test, brain MRI, chest xray, colonoscopy, EGD, upper gi series w/ small bowel follow through..all normal.    After a good night sleep  or just laying down a while improved the symptoms, my blood pressure also tends to get elevated during lightheaded symptoms and i see it vary from 100/60 up to 150/90 through the day

Hi,
In terms of endocrine issues, the most likely would be thyroid dysfunction or a rare disorder called pheochromocytoma--please speak with your doctor about these.

You seem to have had a good cardiac work-up, but you should follow up on those as well, and keep in close contact with your doctor. There are other medical disorders that should be considered, including the endocrine disorders I mentioned as well as panic/anxiety disorders.

Take care. This is my last day on Medhelp but please check back in future as there will be another physician then.
