Blood after bowel movement

For at least a year or so now, I've had blood on the toilet paper after a bowel movement. It's not been every time, but at least 90 percent of the time. It's pretty much always just a minor amount, so I just assumed I was wiping too hard, and the sandpaper they put in the bathrooms at work doesn't help. Only a few times has it been more than just a smear of blood. 2 weeks or so ago, I did a little self exam and found an approx. 3/16" discoloration to the lower left of my anus. (think 7 oclock) When I stretch the skin, it separates and is clearly an open sore. It's not sore unless I've recently had a movement, then it kinda burns like its been aggravated, but stops after awhile. I had a full STD bloodtest last week, everything negative. What research I've done points to anal fissures, but the internet is only so helpful. Any suggestions, course of action or what not?

Rectal bleeding can be caused by hemorrhoids, diverticulosis, an anal fissure, or more concerningly, a colon polyp or cancer.  The latter possibilities would be less likely at your age.

I would suggest an examination by your physician, and a possible flexible sigmoidoscopy or colonoscopy if the symptoms continue.
