Chest pain

I have a hiatial hernia & weak LES valve, which has caused esophagitis. Can the hernia and/or weak valve cause chest pain located just below the left breast or in between the breasts? The pain is sometimes very sharp, and it scares me. I find that I can make the pain go away if I stand up straight, or push on my chest. Has anybody else had this problem? Thanks.

This is a vaginal question and I really hope someone out there can help me today.  I'm a 39 year old white female had a complete hyster at age of 21.  My vagina is turning a dark purple or black color on the outside lip areas and starting to go to the inside area.  There is a white discharge that I've been tested for and comes back negative.  I'm too embarrased to ask my doctor so I really hope someone has seen or heard this same thing before.  I have checked all over the web and could not find anything.  Please help if you can.

Hi - looking for someone with similar symptoms who may be able to help me. For approx 2 years I have been experiencing chest pains. These pains are severe, 99% of the time only on the left side, they radiate under my armpit and around the breast area. Also tightening next to the breastbone. (trip to er ruled out heart when this first occured) 1st Doctor said stress, 2nd Dr. said reflux from hiatel hernia, I was prescribed protonix and metoclopromide for 1 year with no relief. 3rd Dr sent me in for an endoscopy. This Dr. said he believed stomach spasms are the cause of the pains in my chest. For the past 6 months I have been taking Dicylomine to suppress the spasms. Have some chest pain, but not as severe. What is the cause of these spasms?? no one seems to be able to answer me, including the Dr. His answer is to stay on the medication thru the end of the year and "see what happens then". If anyone has had something similar happen, I would love any input. Thanks!!

Hi, I would say yes considering thats where your stomach sits. I do not hav a hernia but I do have GERD and thats where my pain is. My esophogus gets inflamed from the acid and the sharp pains seem to focus on that area. I take prilosec to control the acid and this has help me. I did think it was my heart which I assume you do also and got it checked out and it was fine. I finally went to a gastro doc when the pain sent me to the ER. Good luck and get it checked out for your own piece of mind.
