Color of feces

I have noticed lately when going to the bathroom that I have had some very yellow color on the toilet paper.  When I look in the toilet the stool is brown but I notice that there is some yellowish areas floating (it almost looks oily)  I hope you can understand what I'm talking about.  I was wondering if this might be bile.  Could this mean a problem with the liver.  Thanks so much for your help.

My stool is a greenish color lately. I've been eating more broccoli and lettuce than usual, could that explain the feces color?

You should see your doctor.  I don't believe its anything to do with your liver though.  When someone has oily spots floating in the water after a bowel movement, that can be a symptom of malabsorbtion, meaning you're not digesting fat properly.  Its nothing that serious, but can be treated.  Call your doc!! :-)
