I have been having pressure in the middle of my chest for about three weeks now. I was also having heart palpatations so the Dr. had me have an echocardiogram. Haven't heard back on that yet. The little spasms I have feel like they are in my esophagus but a pinching feeling goes into my right shoulder area an inch or two from the middle of my chest. It gets a blub blub sensation. I get cramping in the area where my esophagus meets my stomach and my stomach cramps up every so often. I have become more belchie as the weeks progress and my stomach feels achey. I get hic-ups in the middle of the night about once every week or two. I have pain in the middle of my back. Seems like the muscles are tight, doesn't really feel like it is a vertabre pinching. I am a 54 year old female.
Before I had my GB out I had same horrific pain. It felt like a heart attack, and sometimes I would vomit. I couldn't even breathe sometimes. This happened everytime I ate something greasy and fatty. My surgeon said after my GB removal that I had at least 200 little stones in my gallbladder and he said the pain I was exper. was when you eat something your gallbladder releases the bile it stores, to aid in digestion of the food. If you have stones in there, when it empties the bile, the stones go with it(if small enough to pass), or try to pass(but can't ) because they are to large. He told me this is where a lot of the pain comes from. You don't want one of the stones to pass and get stuck, then it becomes another problem. Having the GB removed for me was great. No more pain!!!!!!!!!!
I didnt have any pain IN my gallbladder, so tensed muscles from pain just dont fit for me.
Being someone who has had her gull bladder removed and suffered for almost a year before I decided to go to the doctor with it. When you are in pain, every muscle in your body tenses up. and that could be part of your ache. Once you get your gull bladder removed and heal from the surgery, I hope this will go away for you. There is nothing worse then being in pain except for seeing the ones you love being in pain.
My prayers are with you.
Thanks Kat2U.
That's what I was hoping to hear. Somebody that was experiencing the same as me. I do have some dull aching around my rib cage too. Thanks again!
Don
I can only speak for myself and I dont have any medical proof of this..... but before I had my gallbladder removed, I had the same pain symptoms. I had it for so long, I didnt even hardly notice the neck and shoulder pain anymore. I just thought it was how I was. I didnt have a worsening of symptoms after eating though.
So it was a great and wonderful surprise that after I had my GB removed, these pains just vanished! It was at the point I realized just how long I had been suffering with this pain.
Good luck with your Doc appt!
