Fear the worst due to stomach symptoms

Help!  I'm a 30 year old female with severe cancer fears (mom died of cancer when she was 26...bile duct cancer).  I have history of ovarian pain (have had 2 ultrasounds, normal) and some irregular spotting midcycle.

About 5 months ago, I noticed symptoms of nausea coming from basically "out of nowhere".  Usually, after I eat.  About a month ago, I noticed a burning sensation when I drink red wine, especially on empty stomach.

I seem to still feel hungry, but I don't eat as much as I used to.  Nausea is very bad, haven't vomited yet, but feel that this will follow shortly.  I'm very afraid of vomitting also.  Pepcid provides some relief, but symptoms always return.  I am an anxious person and a worry-wart, especially when it comes to my health.  I think it relates to my mother's untimely death from cancer at a young age.  A friend of mine recently passed away (only 31 years old) from stomach cancer.  I'm going to dr today, but very scared of doing so!  Any advice, similar experiences?

Thank you for your help!

ask your doctor to do a gastric emptying test. It will tell if youo have a stomach motility disorder. Chief complaints would be nausea, possibly vomiting, feeling of bloated or fullness. The stomach does not empty properly, thus the symptoms, especially after eating. In the meantime, try a very low fat, low fiber diet.

Hope you learn something at your doctors appt. I too worry, But told smart women tend to be caregivers and do this. I too have cancer and heart disease and live a healthy lifestyle and at 33 feel as if my body is just not helping me out.
A CT is the only test left . The pH showed acid. But then we all know that with the symptoms. But why additional acid. Keep us posted

Yes, please come back and let us know what your doctor says. Is he aware of your fears? He can check and reassure you if he know's what you're thinking. When two of my closest friends were dying (one of breast cancer and the other of luekemia) I found a lump under my arm. At my regular pap test I mentioned it to my doctor who said he could feel it too, and then he found a swelling on my cervix. I was sent to two different specialists but thankfully the lump was benign and the cervix thing was a polyp. My doctor sent a letter ahead to the doctor who checked my lump and it said that although he could feel a small lump he felt it wasn't anything but that a friend of mine had turned up with cancer and he wanted to relieve my fears. I think being involved with my friends made me extra diligent in doing self-checks, I never did them before and haven't since.

I can relate when it comes to being a worry wart. I too am the SAME way. I understand where you're coming from when you speak of stomach pain. Those symptoms mimic a lot of things. Do post when you have time and let us know what the doctor said.
Try not to worry.

i know how you feel. i work in the medical field so i see alot of weird stuff and i always tend to think the worst. but, it's better to know what you are up against, and with technology the way it is today, there are alot of advances that work for many many people. you owe it to yourself to be responsible for your own health and try to get to the bottom of things. we are all too young to suffer, especially if it is needless. best of luck to you.
