I was wondering what might make a person feel full before finishing their meal. I haven't been really hungry because I feel full. I feel lilke I can't eat a whole lot. I haven't been having regular bowel movements either. This has been going on for a couple of weeks. I started my period 10 days late. I don't know if that has anything to do with that or not. I am not pregnant had bloodwork for that. Thanks.
Gastroparesis - or delayed gastric emptying - can lead to early satiety. You should also evaluate the upper GI tract for any blockages.
An upper GI series or upper endoscopy should be considered. If negative, you can consider a gastric emptying scan to evaluate for gastroparesis.
These options should be discussed with your personal physician.
Followup with your personal physician is essential.

i also feel extremely full and uncomfortable after i eat. I get very bloated and look like i am like 6 months pregnant even though im deffinently not. Im going to dr's right now becasue i have been having horrible tearing and burning pain in my stomach everywhere, mainly around my belly button area. I went to the ER and they put me on prilosec and told me to take antiacid b4 and after i eat. I still have problems. I can't even lay down to sleep. My hida scan is in the morning. Hope they figure something out because im sick of being miserable.
Hello there, please let me know what you found out i have been having the same problems with this. That is how my problems started then it end up worse with heartburn reguration and not able to swallow food choking on my food to taking prilosec 2 times a day myltanta to nexium 1 day with carafte twice a day and mylanta to control the pain. They did try to put me on nexium and zantac combo and this made everything so much worse w/out the carafate. I am now back on the carafate with the nexium but still have pain and boughts of chest pain and neck and back burning but nothing like i was. I have a gastro appt next week to find out but i would love to know what they told you.
They told i had ibs and gave me meds for that but still have bouts with going and not goiong never really been regluar.
Hello everyone. Starting February 2007, I started to feel always bloated. Before I could always eat two cup of rice every meal, but it decreased significantly from two cups to only HALF CUP RICE as of today. And most of the time, I do not feel hungry anymore. I still need to force myself to eat and yet, I only eat just a hefty (3-4 spoons of rice and meals). Then it was on the month of June that I noticed a change in my bowel movement, I had intermittent diarrhea and constipation for no apparent reason. The worse is, on the 1st week of August, I immediately sought an advice from a gastroenterologist because my stools are becoming narrower day after day. (not the size of a pencil but twice the size of it) i'm really worried that it may lead to that size one of these days. Last Saturday, August 18, I again sought the help of a gastro because I noticed a blood in my stools (like blood clots- bright red in color all around it). Then he advised me to take Ganaton and Eldicet/Buscopan to make it sure that by my next follow up, he'd like to have my rectum checked for hemmorhoids. Of course, I was terrified and asked him to have me under colonoscopy to rule out possible serious diseases. And I have constant flatulence every 5 minute or so and hiccups. I do not know what's wrong with me... PLS heLP. On August 28, ill have my COLONOSCOPY schedule. Please pray for me~~~~!!!!!
I too am in the same boat as jhm89 but with symptoms further along! Since March '07, I've eaten and been sick to my stomach every day for the 3 months, after this time since, the 'sick' feeling left and I've been able 2 eat what I want BUT I look like I'm 7 mths. pregnant!! My stomach is hard and numb in certain spots plus I keep feeling a fluttering like I'm being kicked. I strain a great deal 2 relieve myself and caused my first episode of hemorrodes so I ease out whatever comes now! My period normally was 3 days average, now its been 90 days straight to 90 days of nothing!! (I have no job, $ or insurance so I can't even get checked out!) I used my income tax 2 see an old doctor and he gave me Nexium - it removed the 'sick' feeling after 1 bottle so I stopped taking it. I'm taking colon cleansing herbs hoping it'll help.
Now my breasts r hard with dimples on 3/4 of each 1!
Could it be possible that you may be pregnant? The sickness during the first couple of months, the fluttering, kicking feeling in your stomach, and then the breast changes all make me think of pregnancy signs.. Also no periods for 90 days. Have you had a pregnncy test or been checked by your physician to rule out pregnancy first? I may be all wrong but it wad just a hunch. I do hope you will feel better soon! I too have had this awful feeling of fullness in my stomach the last three weeks and can't eat much food before the fullness starts and my stomach is looking four months pregnant as well.
Anyway I sure hope it's not something serious for both of us!
