I am having some of the same problems I have pain under my right rib cage and it sometimes feels like something moving in there under my rib cage.  The pain is really bad sometimes.  The pain is usually about 30 min after I eat It is a cramping pain sometimes sharpe. I've had all the gallbladder test and they are all normal.  I usually get relief from the pain when I lay down.  Now figure that...... So I guess I'm in the same boat as some of you.

I have had attacks for years more recently since doing a new form of ww the core plan lots of grains, whole foods, whole wheat pastas, lots of fruits,veggies and ff milk and 2 tsp of healthy oil daily
these attacks are like a gallbladder attack, runs in the family so i assumed this. but this wednesday i got an us and it was normal. next week going to gastro.  the pain is in my right upper quadren under my breast and it lasts between 4 - 8 days.
be for losing 42 lbs in 2 1/2 yrs i used to get frequent attacks. they stoped until i started the new ww core plan and now i seem to get them every other month, right before menstration, and when im a little stressed.
any info will help

I am back from my surgery and everything went fine. The constant pain I was having is gone. Although my gallbladder was health function wise, it had folded over on itself. It had begun to turn white on the fold line.

I am going in next week to have my gallbladder out. The original appointment was post pone due to me getting pneumonia with liquid on the lung and being treated for that for 5 days in the hospital.

While I was waiting fro the all clear from my lung doctor, I went and got a second opinion from a gastrologist. I did have a gastric empting test and a detail small bowl done. Both came back in normal range. So now, I going in, which honestly isn

I had gastric reflux problems and abdominal pain. Like you, I had all the tests; however, my hida scan had a much lower ejection fraction (18%). My Dr. was also reluctant to remove the gallbladder due to no evidence of stones on the scans. Instead, he did an ERCP with sphincterotomy and made a diagnosis of SOD (Sphincter of Oddi disfunction). The procedure did not help- so I went on my own accord to the surgeon and had gallbladder out (lap chole). Anyway, I feel immensely better and no longer need the PPI's and can pretty much eat whatever again (with the help of rolaids or pepcid sometimes). I still get occasional discomfort but nothing like before and I attribute it to the supposed SOD problem. Wonder if your Doctors have considered SOD (or, maybe your ejection fraction is too high for that to be a consideration)??

An update to my situation- I went to the ER Wednesday morning for intense stabbing pain both on my right and left side (mostly upper quadrant). It feels like a combination of getting socked in the gut and the pain one get on their side from running. I hurts to breath deep. The pain has been slowly increasing over the week. My appetite and bowl movements are normal. Urine sample normal, no fever. The doctors on staff reviewed my recent history, and came to the same conclusion-it is my gallbladder. They gave me vicoden for the pain- and I am scheduled for surgery next week.

I would consider a referral to a GI doc.  If the EGD, ultrasound and HIDA scan was non-revealing, you are still left with options.  

The first would be a 24-hr pH study which can evaluate for GERD.  I would also consider a gastric emptying scan, which can evaluate for gastroparesis (i.e. delayed gastric emptying).  This disease can lead the the symptoms you have described.

I would consider this referral first before a laparotomy.

BTW, I forgot to mention I am a 32 year old female- 5'4", 144 pounds. I do not drink or smoke and have no other medical conditions.

Given the negative testing, it's highly unlikely to be your gallbladder; and it seems premature to undergo laparoscopy. Having an appointment with a gastroenterologist seems a good move at this point.
