I understand the concern that you have.  I lived with severe nausea for several months straight and lost weight during that period.  I found out that you could buy a test kit for H.Pylori at the pharmacy.  It saves alot of time and gives instant results. I bought it at the Extra foods pharmacy. There are also other useful test kits that are sold there.  My problem was linked to my gallbladder.  I never had stones and had to live with it a long time before it got diagnosed.  Well, good luck and hope you find some answers.

You ask about the gastric emptying. My husband just had one done monday will be a week ago. He had to eat an scrammbled egg sandwich.Dry nothing on it except some radioactive dye.and a little salt and pepper. He says it was nasty. After eating that they x-rayed his stomach every 30 min for 2 hrs. He could walk around just as long as he was back in the room for x-ray in 30 min. They set a timmer to know when to x ray.My Little sister works gor a GI doctor in another town. She said they made they patients eat oatmeal. My husband said the worse thing about it was eating that nasty sandwich.Wish you good luck

I have had this done 2 ways. Its pretty simple. The first one I had the eat an egg white with the dye or nuke stuff in it. The had to lay on a table under the x ray machine for 2 hours. You can't move, so the best thing to do is take a nap. The 2nd one I had was at a different hospital. That time I went in and ate the egg thig again. They had me stand in front of a x ray plate - took a picture and I left. I had to come back every hour or two (I can't remember) to have another picture until all the egg is digested. It took about 4 hours. Very simple test either way. The second one was nice because I went shopping in between.
