Heartbeat Just Above BellyButton?

Hello Everyone,
I was laying down today and examining my stomach area and noticed I could feel my heartbeat, very prounced, when I layed my fingers just above my belly button...I could feel the heartbeat even stronger than putting my hand on my heart itself...My question is, is this a normal pulse point and if not what could this be?  Could it be a huge blood clot pulsing?  Please help if you can as I am quite worried...I have been losing some weight too...Thanks

DJ

It would be a good idea to see your family doctor. Sometimes a pulsating mass in the stomache can be an abdominal aortic aneurysm. Ilsa

I have had the same thing since I had my second child.  I always thought it was normal.

If you have GERD, acid reflux or especially gastritis, that is normal. Wherever there's a problem, you will feel a pulse. It's the blood supply. I use to get this a lot! I have gastritis. I wouldn't worry too much, but make an appt. with your GI just to get things checked out.

I agree. Go to the doctor NOW, just in case it could be an aortic aneurism. I thought of that possibility even before I read Ilsa's good comments! So if 2 of us are thinking that, you really should go to a good doc TODAY, and find out for sure, what's going on!

Sincerely, Concerned lady
