Help please

I have Gerd for about 4 months. I have another symtom that really makes me feel frustrated along with Gerd. When walking, sometimes I felt a little unsteady, unbalanced, my body is a little tilt , seems the wind can blow me down. In that second, I feel I lost control of my body.

I have done cardiology tests and cat scan of head, all turns normal.

Does any one have this wierd symtom?

Doctors can't figure out why. I guess I'll live with it or let time cure it.
And I'm sure it's not anxiety.

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Thanks a lot.

I have had GERD for all of my life (even before it was GERD) the most common symptons are neck and left shoulder pain, sinus problems.

I was taking Protonix for several months and that made very dizzy when I walked. I would be fine, then suddenly get a wave of dizziness. Nexium and Aciphex caused dizziness and other unpleasant side effects. I am doing the best on Ranitidine (Zantac), which I can regulate throughout the day, and that really has helped me control my reflux.

Could it be a side effect of any medications you may be taking? You say you aren't eating much lately ~ is it possible your blood sugar is low at these times? Have you tried eating smaller meals more frequently to see if that helps? Have you been checked for fluid behind the ear drums? Just some suggestions. Good luck.

Thank you. What you said is quite reasonable. My doctor prescribed a physical therapy for me, I'll try that.

I can't figure out why, but I'm sure it's not anxiety.

I don't like some doctors when they can't find the reason, and they will say it's anxiety. This makes me most diappointed with the doctor.

i'm not sure if neck and shoulder pain is related to gerd .altho i have gerd and neck and shoulder pain but if your neck muscles spasm it pulls on muscles that connect to your eyes, ears, sinuses etc...if i sit at a computer too long or drive too much it also happens...its almost feels like my head is bobbing altho its not....i think you could try to get a neck and upper body deep massage by a sport massager ?...it might help....they can feel the knots and release them....i tried it with some relief but didnt go very long cos its expensive!  good luck

I also have necksoreness and left shoulder pain and sometimes back pain. It lasts so long that either doctor or I can't find the reason. So I buy a medslant pillow to eliminate the reason that caused by my raised pillows.

It seems not the reason, so Ozark what do you think about the unsteadiness of walking? Do you have solutions?

IS neck and shoulder tension related with Gerd?

Thanks

Could be vertigo. You may want to do a search on the Internet and see if the description matches your symptoms.
