High Liver Enzyme Count

My AST is 73H and my ALT is 133H.

I understand the normal range for this test is 0-60H.

Are my numbers something to be alarmed about?

There's some info about ALT at

http://thriveonline.oxygen.com/medical/library/article/003473res.html

There's information on ALT, AST, and other liver tests at

http://cpmcnet.columbia.edu/dept/gi/labtests.html

Hope this helps.

Almost any elevation should be checked out.  I think that your family doctor could handle the tests.  There are some minor things that can cause elevation from medication to fatty liver.  Get it checked out just to be safe.

NORMAL RANGES:  ALT   5-50 U/L.   AST   5-40 U/L  AP  20-120 U/L GGT  0-50. HIGH ENZYMES MEAN YOUR LIVER IS UNDER STRESS. FINDING THE STRESSOR IS THE HARD PART.
