Itching and eating

About 3 1/2 years ago I started itching all over my body (no rash or dermatitis of any kind).  It all started immediately the day after I dropped milk products from my diet.  I've noticed that when I eat, I itch.  The itching is particularly bad if I eat something very hot, very cold, dry and bulky, salty, spicy, etc . . .  At one time eating would actually stop the itching for awhile.  It's as if I have an ulcer, but instead of pain I have itching.  I've seen numerous allergists, a gastroenterologist, various and sundry general practioners, and even some alternative care physicians.  All to no avail.  Antihistamines don't even begin to touch this itching!  No meds, not even cortisol have helped.  Has anyone else experienced this?  Is there any hope for a life that isn't just sheer misery?!?  HELP!
