Nausea for Years

My symptoms first started around 1998.  I got extreme nausea attacks that could only be remedied by lying down on my back.  If I stood up, I got nauseated.  The nausea attacks would hit at any time of day, not traced to eating, etc.  I then started to get panic attacks.  Something I have never had before.  I only vomited one time, and when I went to the doctors, the first thought I had the flu.  Then I went through all of the medications:  Prevacid, etc.  None of these medicines changed a thing about how I felt.  I went from being able to watch anything to not being able to see blood.  Total change in what I could handle.  Then a D.O. gave me a subscription to raise my serotonin (or inhibit its uptake), stating that the Prevacid and others caused some problems for me.  Two days later I was better.  No more attacks.  Amazing.  He told me that I would have to take the medicine probably for the rest of my life.  I took it until the symptoms went away, probably less than a month.  They stayed away for about a year or so.  Slowly coming back.  I have concerns taking medicine like this for prolonged periods of time.  Retalin ruined my social behavior when I took it as a child.  That stuff is BAD!!!  I am affraid that I will experience that type of devastating effect.  Now my symptoms are back in full force.  But different, if my body needs to eat, sleep, bm, pee, or thermoregulate I will be immediately warned by a nausea attack.  I go through a checklist to narrow down which one of these things is making me nauseated.
Anyone else had this? What about Serotonin?

I found a NATURAL cure.  Everybody pay attention if you have symptoms similar to mine.  Do research on 5-HTP.  It is solution I am going to try.  From what I read, it will fix my problem GOOD, without the effects of the SSRI medications.

Hi there...I have been reading and reading for days, and yours sounds the closest to my husbands case.  He has been extremely sick for 7 months...our life as it was, has ceased to exist (hopefully temporarily).  The doctors keep telling us to wait it out...that the gastroparesis is definitely temporary and his system will work itself out.  are they right?  should we just suffer?  can't we do anything for him?  he is on domperidone and has tried reglan...nothing helps.  they think a virus temporarily disrupted his gastro track...he has just had a test to see if his pacemaker in his stomach is even working (his natural one).  someone PLEASE give me some kind of hope :(
