Several Symptoms

Short history:
I am a 31 year old white female.  I have always been in good health and in relatively good shape, although, in the past, I have occassionally gained a little weight and then take control of what was going on and then lose the weight.  I am not on any medication.  I have a fairly stressful job and I just got married.  I am currently having my period and am positive that I am not pregnant (I also had a period last month and I did a pregnancy test). I have always had regular bowl movements-- almost at the same time every day.

Symptoms:
I have gained almost thirty pounds in the last 8 to 10 weeks without significantly altering my diet.  I began having occasional stomach aches in March.  I did nothing because I thought it was nervous stomach due to some events at work.  My stomach aches are high up and painful-- sometimes they cause me to gag and sometimes I get nautious.  Then, about mid-May, I began to become constipated increasingly more often.  Mystomach feels full all the time; I have not had a normal bowl movement in almost a month.  I went two and a half weeks where the only way I could have a bowl movement was to take a laxative.  I continue to gain weight.

I know this sounds stupid, but, I'm afraid to go to the doctor and I have become depressed because of the weight gain.

I am 37 years old female and I had severe stomach pains.  I was pretty afraid to go to the doctor.  Well, one night the pain was so bad my husband had to take me to the ER room.  They did blood work and then did an ultrasound and I had gallstones.  (Gallstones are very painful)  I just had my gallbladder removed last Monday.  Please don't be afraid, make an appointment to see the doctor. You will be so happy after you do!  It is all the worry that drives a person crazy!  I will try my best to stay on top of good health from now on!  Good Luck to you!  I've met very supportive people in this forum!  It helps to talk about it!

I agree, making the appointment and going to the doctor is the hardest part. But once that is done, you will feel so good that you did and are taking control again. What use is it to sit and worry and hope your condition will go away. Worrying will only make it worse. I don't know what your symptoms are, but if there is no blood then that is a good sign. The sooner you go to the doctor, the sooner you will be diagnosed and something done about your ailment.

Could be gallstones...before I had my gall bladder out I would have attacks at 2, 3 in the morning and end up in the emergency room...just think of it this way, would u rather be in constant pain and misery or get some answers and find a solution to your problem?

It does help to go to the doctor.  I have just had a CAT scan of my abdomen and am awaiting the test results.  Did I mention that I am a nurse and work with a large amount of oncology patients!?
The first thing I think is Cancer.  I also suffer from depression and that just adds fuel to the fire.  Please keep a positive attitude and pray.  It works and you'll probably find that it is very minor anyway!!  Good Luck
