Spontaneous Bowel Movement

My boyfriend lost control of his bowels, he has a stomache ulcer, gastritis, is an excessive drinker and a cocain user. My gut tells me that the drinking or drug use caused this and not the other conditions. Am I wrong? Could this have occured from the stomache ulcer or gastritis?
Thank you in advance, all comments are appriciated.

first off being a  chronic drinker does play a big part in the digestive system being able to form solid stool most people will have a problem with lose stools or even watery bowel movements .the cocain on the other hand numbs the sneses and the musels, nerves and tisue of the body which could aid in the lost of control of his bowels, also it is considered a form of pain medication which can also constipate ,depending on how the persons body react to that drug, but i would say his medical condition plays a large part, also adding insult to injurie.if he does not want to be physicaly handicaped for the rest of his life i would sugest he put his health above the drugs and drinking.or it will no doubt be the case considering his present condition , it also seems to me he needs to seek serious help for his drug and alcohol abuse.getting him into a center that will suport and help him in recovery is the first step you both should be takeing toward the betterment of his health and life .god bless and i wish you both well.

I've never heard of gastritis and ulcers causing a loss of bowel control.  It's dangerous to use alcohol and other drugs, esp. when you have his type of stomach problems.  It seriously aggrevates the lining of the stomach which can make ulcers and gastritis much worse, causing them to bleed which can be life-threatening.  Since he's a heavy drinker and cocaine user and having difficultly controlling his bodily functions, he really needs to see a doctor about his problems ASAP.  I hope your boyfriend seeks and gets the help he obviously needs.

Thank you again for your comments and advice, unfortunatly he is not ready to seek any help concerning the drug and alcohol problem. He has seen a doctor a year ago concerning the ulcer, he does have medication but I am not sure if he has taken it.
Thank you for your prayer, I am not going to give up on him and let the evil prevail, I know I am stronger. The saddest part is that he is only 25. I had no idea of the severity, I will make more of an effort but anyone that knows an addict, knows how touchy the subject can be. This difficult challenge will only make me stronger for the next, thank you for your support.
