What could it be?

Over the past year ive noticed blood in my feaces, but only very occasionally.. it went away for 5-6 months but now seems to be reoccuring. I'm just wondering whether its something to worry about and whether i need to see the doctor about it as im only 20. Any support would be great.

Thx

You should never see blood in your stool.  You should make an appointment with a gastroenterologist.

Is the blood diet related?  Is it related to straining during BM?  Possibly heamarrhoids (sp?) or fissures?.  At your age is unlikely to be anything else.  Try ensuring high fibre diet and drinking plenty of water and exercising frequently to ensure your stool is soft - make sure you don't suffer from constipation.  If this advice doesn't resolve the blood - you should probably see your Dr. for evaluation.
