blood in stool

GDW
Hi--Just found this forum and checked the archives. My problem is a little different than most of the posts. I'm 49, female, and have been having blood on the tissue after I use the bathroom. Kind of pink, or even orangish in color. Sometimes instead of a stool, it's just water and looks pinkish. No pain, some itching at times. I don't think it's hemorrhoids. I have to go more often than I used to and most times it's just the water. I drink coke all day, not much of anything else, and mostly live on hamburgers and other junk food (leftover bad habits). I don't go to doctors, but the blood appearing every day has me worried. This has been going on for a couple of months. Any ideas?

Please, whatevery you do go see a doctor about your problem with the blood in your stool.  I had the same problem a year ago and went right away because I knew it wasn't right.  I had a colonoscopy done and and a malignant carcinoid tumor was found in my rectum which was causing the bleeding. IfI hadn't gone to the doctor at the time I don't know where I would be today.
The colonoscopy I had is what saved my life.

A change in bowel habits, and blood in stools are warning signs.  A colonoscopy can save your life.  Don't be embarrassed.  I had the procedure and an early colon cancer was discovered. The procedure is easy, I was asleep and never knew a thing.

Thank you both for your replies. Unless it gets worse though, I have no plans to see a doctor. That's just me I guess. I appreciate your ideas.

You should really see a doctor.  As the other person has said, blood in bowel movements or on the toilet paper is definitely NOT normal.  I hope you have a colonoscopy done.  That is the only way to really know for sure what is going on.  And it would be a very good idea to try to get started on better eating habits.  Try to start eating fruits and vegetables and drink lots of water, and cut down on coke.  Let us know how you are doing.
