I am 33 male. Had occasional blood spots on tp, usually after explosive bowel movement, for about a year. Also rectal itching after bowel movement. My doc thinks I have ibs due to other symptoms such as occasional cramps, gurgling and diarhea. I have discovered psylium which has vastly improved my stools. I seem to get diarhea and blood spots a day or two after drinking alcohol.

sounds like hemmorhoids.  you don't mention your name, but seeing as what you signed your name as i'm going to guess your wayyyyy too young for anything serious like colon cancer if thats what your worried about.  if you're worried, go see your doc, but generally bright red blood on the toilet paper is nothing but hemmorhoids, at the most a fissure.  hope i've helped!
