intermittent pain, constant diarrhea after gallbladder has been removed

I was just wondering, I had my gallbladder out in 1993 but since then have been plagued with long and drawn out bouts of constipation and or diarrhea, the diarrhea being much more common and prevelant, nausea and vomitting for days, sometimes weeks, also including sometimes severe pain in my lower right abdomen along with fevers, chills and weight loss, and  dizziness. The diarrhea comes almost immediately after eating a meal but it doesn't have to be anything specific that I have eaten. Are these from gallstones or possibly something else entirely and how long do I expect to contuinue on with this problem, is is maintainable and or curable and how do I go about managing the pain? Sometimes it is downright debilitating! Help! Thank you for your time.

Ditto I have same problem, Had all test under the sun and no answers.  I also had salmonella, but didn't recognize it because I already had chronic diarrhea.  After taking meds for salmonella my diarrhea is worse.  Now almost 2-1/2 months after taking antibotics, I cannot go anywhere if a toilet isn't close by.

Soon after eating -- there I go.

Well I've been eating POTATOES its the onlh "Natural" food I can eat that "sticks".  However, over the years after I had my gallbladder removed, I've gained about 35 lbs.  I cannot eat green leafy veggies.  Recently I cannot even eat tomatoes.  Cannot drink coffee.  Just drinking Green Tea and taking Vitamin B Complex.

What a sad life this is.  Doctors are NO help.  I feel like they took out the very most important part of me.

Hey Rudy Blues,
I had the exact same thing happen on one of my ER visits.  They told me all the pain I was having was from a UTI.  I knew they were wrong, but they wouldn't listen to me.  I have read your posts before, and I believe you don;t have a UTI.  Isn't it amazing what they try to come up with when they haven't a clue as to what is wrong with you.  Go find yourself a good GI Specialist and don't give up until you have the answer you know is correct.

I went to the er Sunday night because the pain was unbearable and the first er doctor said I needed a gi workup but there wasnt much he could do for me there at the hospital. Then he left for his shift and another doctor came on to replace him and she said of all things I had a urinary tract infection, I couldnt believe it. She said I had some bacteria in my urine so that was what she was treating me for and nothing else, she as much as told me if I wanted any further treatment I wouldnt get it there from her or the staff, she was only going to treat me for the infection I supposedly had. I was so mad I went home and still have the same symptoms, I certainly do not have a u.t.i., I have had those in the past and this definitely isnt what I have so now onto step two! Thanks for all your help and comments, who knew it would be so difficult to have someone figure these symptoms out! Thanks again!

You would need to see a gastroenterologist if you're concerned about Chrone's disease.  You should also have them check your amylase and lipase levels for pancreatitis, as your complaints are all common symptoms of chronic pancreatitis, too.  Quite often people develop pancreatitis after gallbladder removal.  I would recommend  a consultation with a digestive specialist and full CBC as soon as possible.  Good luck.

I'm thinking this may be Crohns disease.  You have all the symptoms and it seems if you read some of the other posts that people who have had ther gallbladders removed seemed to be more likely for this condition.
