looking for info

I just found this site today.  I couldn't believe my chronic upper back & lower neck pain could be related to my gall & reflux problems.  I'm 25 & had x-rays done that the doctor suggested could be arthritis.  I just had ultrasounds of stomach areas & upper GI.  I have reflux & am being put on a med for that.  During my ultrasound my liver, stomach, etc. were all seen clearly and empty, but my gallbladder was black.  I didn't eat or drink 12 hrs before tests.  I am now being sent for a Hida scan-although I don't know what that is-because they said something is there but they don't know what.  Could anybody give me possibilities of what is going on?  Will I possibly need surgery?  Thank you for your info.

The Hida scan tests the functionality of your gallbladder unlike a regular scan or ultrasound. They are doing this on you because they can see there is something up with the gallbladder and the Hida scan will give them a more accurate feel for how your gallbladder is functioning.

Whether you will need surgery or not will depend on what they find out about your GB. My guess is yes, they will probably want to take it out.

I had mine out 2 months ago and am quite happy with the results!
