me, my burning and HONEY IS HELPING

HI everyone
just to say that on my search for anything that helps to control my terrible burning pains in my stomach and chest etc, i have found that ordinary honey is helping me considerably. I have always hated the stuff but have read that it has a lot of healing properties so decided to try it. Fingers crossed but for the past few days my pains have subsided and I have been able to eat normally, something I have been struggling with for months. Obviously this might not work for everyone, but thought I'd share it with you anyway.

love tammy aka gomey

ps I know it rots your teeth and makes you fat but thats life!!

Greetings from Australia

Glad to hear the honey is helping. I saw a doco on raising calves in New Zealand and they are adding honey to their 'milk bottles' at feeding time to eliminate using antibiotics for gut infections!!
Also I worked for a vascular surgeon who introduced using raw honey (not heat treated and no extra additives)for treating leg ulcers into hospitals first in Brisbane, and then Australia wide. He has fabulous success as honey is natural antibiotic and healing agent. There is now a honey marketed called MediHoney which costs heaps (of course}.

Good Luck....

Oh.  I live in the midst of many apple orchards.  There is a good supply of natural honey in the shops.  I've been trying to avoid the sweets stuff because i am trying to lose weight but I'm glad to hear it is beneficial.
I saw a TV show about Egypt one time and they mentioned that the ancient Egyptians used honey as an antibiotic.

I am not using what is known as 'raw honey' as it is difficult to obtain (in England) anyway and it is quite expensive. I am using honey that I purchase from a local beekeeper (not supermarket stuff as that has had a few health warnings recently) I know 'raw honey' is supposed to be more beneficial to be honest, especially on bread as this keeps it in the stomach for longer. Hope this is helpful to you.

Are you using raw honey?  (Sorry about the use of the word "find".  I wasn't sure how to ask the question.) :)

Hi again
I've no idea if putting it in your tea helps as I havn't tried it. I did not 'find' this information anywhere. It started with me reading a book about the healing properties of honey. It said that honey is given to people with ulcers and that they show a remarkable recovery rate. I am still taking my antacids, but have still been suffering with an amount of burning. I just thought that I would try some self help so brought a few jars of the stuff and tried it. I repeat again, others might not notice any difference, i was just suprised myself with how much better I felt and wanted to share it with fellow sufferers. One thing is for sure with honey being so natural, it can't do anybody any harm can it!

Hi
Glad you picked up on my suggestion, I am eating it straight from the jar, about a tablespoon full at a time, whenever I feel like it. I truly hope this does help you, as I said its worth a try.

Thanks for the suggestion.  I will have to try that.  I have had terrible burning in my chest for the past few days.  My reflux is in full swing!  Do you just eat it straight?  About how much?  Also, do you eat it first thing in the morning, before meals, etc???  Thanks!
