I have had Peripheral Neuropathy for over 10 years, and I can tell you that it is progressive, painful, and can be only somewhat controlled through medication if you get the right doctors (using medication usually used for patients with epilepsy).  The medication causes the nerves to become confused and send the wrong signals to the brain, hopefully not the painful ones.  Your biggest enemy will be yourself.  There is no cure.  Get into a Chronic Pain Clinic and prepare yourself well. One of the best web sites for information is: www.neuropathy.org

I was told by the doc who did the EMG that there was a connection - it was not an assumption that I made. I'm just confused!
