An IVP is an intravenous pyelogram.  This is a special X-ray of the kidneys, ureters, and bladder.  A dye is introduced through an IV line in your arm.  The dye will outline your kidneys and urinary system structure so they can be seen on X-ray.  It tests to see how well your kidneys and urinary system are functioning.  The test will also show kidney stones.
